Italia 1 The one-country rule in football has been the subject of much debate in recent years.
This season, Juventus defender Daniele Rugani has become the first player in the last 40 years to have played for both Italy and the Italian national team.
But, despite the two countries’ two respective national teams being the most successful in history, the two leagues still have their differences.
“I think we all know how the one-player rule in Serie A works,” said former Juventus midfielder Alessandro Del Piero.
“It is one of the main reasons why we have had two leagues for so long.
I think it is the biggest problem we have today.
We can only play against each other, and we can only compete in the same competition.”
Del Pieroi played for the Bianconeri from 1984-1986.
He has also been part of the national team for eight years.
And now, he says, “it is the same situation as it was in the 1990s when Italy was ranked second in the world and was ranked at the very top in the European championship.”
Del Pio thinks that “this is the time to rethink the one country, two systems”.
“The one-team system is not a very effective one.
It is very difficult to change.
If the two clubs are able to agree a new system, it will be a great step forward,” he said.
He also believes that “one country, one system” is “the most effective” system, as Italy has become more popular in Europe and is more stable.
“One day we will be able to talk about the ‘two countries, one country’, but the day will not come that the ‘One Country, One System’ is no longer relevant.””
