When Italy’s new star has to deal with the pressure

Expatriates living abroad are expected to play a bigger role in Italy’s national team this season, as well as in the future.

The former international players will no longer be the only ones expected to contribute, as a new generation of expatriates are expected on the pitch for the first time.

The Italians, who won their first major tournament in 25 years with a 2-0 win over Germany in the Champions League, are aiming for their first World Cup appearance in 2022.

But there will be plenty of pressure on them in 2018, as Italy will be competing in the Europa League for the fourth time in the past five years.
