If you’re a foreigner and you’ve ever lived in the US, what do you do to stay out of trouble?

I lived in New York City for six years before I left.

I spent two years living in San Francisco before moving to Los Angeles.

I moved to Los Feliz for a year and a half, then spent two months in San Diego for the summer before moving back to New York.

I came back to the US two years later.

What advice would you give to someone who’s considering moving to the United States?

If I was thinking about moving to New Jersey, I’d tell them to read through my post about how I was able to stay in a very similar environment, how I never really saw the negative things that are happening in other countries.

And then I’d say to them, “This is what it’s like living in the United State, and it’s what it looks like living here.”

It’s very hard for people to come here and feel safe and secure, but when you do, it makes it very easy to be here and you can be a part of it.
